Richard joined Thompson Wright in March 2021, having previously worked for HMRC for 33 years, 25 of these as a compliance investigator.
His work with HMRC involved analysing the tax returns and records of individuals, companies and self-employed businesses throughout the UK and carrying out enquiries to make sure that the correct amount of tax was paid.

He also has a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with employer compliance, specifically in the areas of expenses and benefits.
In his latter years with the department his work was concentrated on high profile public figures and issues that required a high degree of discretion and sensitivity of treatment.

Richard is very approachable, highly customer focussed and has the specialist knowledge to be able to liaise and respond to HMRC during an enquiry to get the best outcome for you.
