Kent and Medway Business Fund

The Kent and Medway Business fund is a grant of sorts, it specialises in providing 0% loans to small and medium businesses. The scheme proposed delivery of its £5m investment across Kent and Medway. The funds Expansion East Kent, Tiger and Escalate, were the previous regional growth fund schemes which fund this project. Areas eligible for specialised loans between £50,000 and £500,000 are Ashford, Canterbury, Dartford, Dover, Gravesham Maidstone, Medway, Sevenoaks, Shepway, Swale, Thanet, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells.

Businesses who are eligible are those who are sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, or NFP. Special areas of interest for the fund are those businesses who are safeguarding or creating jobs, expanding or developing products, which will bring about growth and productivity. Businesses who need seed capital and can afford the small 0% repayments will stand to benefit from this fund which seeks to provide money to specific businesses that meet their requirements. It is worthwhile to remember that though this is not a grant per se it is a fund which provides money to businesses at no interest and with small repayments which can be a wonderful benefit to many SMEs.
