Lawrence Thompson

It is with great regret we have to announce that sadly Lawrence passed away on 29th December aged 86. He suffered a heart attack in hospital having been taken ill just before Christmas.

For those of you who became clients after his retirement he took over what was a very small practice in 1976 and in 1983 we became Thompson Wright.   He retired in 1995 handing over to Richard.

For those of you who he acted for you will have your own memories of Lawrence. No doubt you will recall a sense of confidence in knowing you had the right man on your side of any negotiation whether with another business, your bank or what is now HMRC. His enthusiasm encouraged so many clients, staff and indeed partners to make the most of opportunities that came their way.

From our perspective we feel proud that we have continued what he started and maintained his philosophy of building relationships that last.

For now our thoughts are with Lawrence’s wife Irene, his children Pauline, Howard and Richard and his seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be made later. If you wish to be kept informed further, then could we ask you to contact Tracy Walton on 01782 613141 or email
