South Staffordshire District Council is inviting expressions of interest for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) Community Fund, with grants of up to £25,000 available for eligible not-for-profit organisations. This funding opportunity is designed to support community projects that contribute to the development of strong, healthy, safe, and inclusive communities across the district.
Unlike the Rural England Prosperity Fund—which is limited to small business growth and rural diversification—this funding is specifically for not-for-profit and community-based initiatives across the wider South Staffordshire area.
Who Can Apply?
Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit which can include:
- Charities, voluntary, community and private sector organisations
- Public sector organisations such as Parish Councils and Higher Education providers
- Other legally constituted public or community-focused organisations
To be eligible, your organisation must be legally constituted and able to receive public funds.
Examples of Eligible Projects
The types of projects that may be considered for funding include:
- Community facility upgrades: Adding green energy, improving accessibility, or creating multipurpose spaces.
- Charity-led initiatives: Refurbishing properties to deliver day care sessions or community support services.
- Country park improvements: Installing secure parking, EV charging points, play areas, or a community café.
- Training schemes: Purchasing equipment to support student and apprentice skills development.
All capital projects should ideally create employment or voluntary opportunities in the area.
Deadline for Applications
All projects must be completed by 30th September 2025.
Applicants should ensure that all necessary planning permissions are either in place or clearly evidenced as not required, prior to submitting their application.
